Life Changes Academy, Inc. is a non-profit tax exempt organization 501 (c) (3), that provides both an educational service and a human service for many disadvantaged adults seeking a better life. It previously operated under the umbrella of public education until the funding was cut due to budgetary constraints. During that time we were privileged to see: 1) A single mom with more than one child be able to graduate and work in the public school system. She is continuing on with her education to become a teacher. 2) A father who had been on the streets for years graduate, reunite with his children and open up his own computer business 3) A mom from a shelter for those who have been battered and/or abused not return to her same situation because she gained job skills. The adult high school and training on their site worked because it met the students where they were – in a recovery center, shelter for those who have been battered and/or abused, or at their job site (in this case a minimum wage job which still made them too poor to afford an apartment. This made them employed and homeless.) These are real people who have made significant life changes by their own hard work.
Life Changes Academy is operating a little differently, making its headquarters at Green Oak Ranch, in Vista, CA instead of public education.. We are offering an adult high school, vocational training, motivational coaching (Anderson &Anderson model), anger management courses (Anderson &Anderson model), technology skills development, and literacy certificates. We are focusing on literacy as a practical skill necessary to live a productive life in any field.
While Life Changes Academy is faith-based, we do not affiliate ourselves with any specific church and have no required religious courses. We admit students of any religious background, race, color, national and ethnic origin. Everyone is guaranteed all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and other academy-administered programs.
"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
